NEWS RELEASE TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON
CENTRE WELLINGTON – Following a 19-month closure, the Elora Municipal office is set to re-open to the public on Monday, December 6. The Fergus Fire Station will follow suit, and re-open on the same day.
“We are confident that we have the tools in place to safely serve our customers” said Mayor Kelly Linton. “Our staff have continued to maintain a high level of service throughout the pandemic, and we will continue to follow all public health requirements to ensure the safety of one another and our employees as our facilities re-open to the public.”
Individuals visiting the Elora Municipal office will be screened at the door and be required to complete a COVID-19 health screening questionnaire before entering the office. Although the office is open, the following restrictions are in effect:
- No more than two (2) persons are allowed in the Municipal Office at one time and must maintain a physical distance of 2 metres/6 feet.
- Residents must wear a face covering when entering the Municipal Office.
- Residents must use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the Municipal Office.
Residents can also continue to make payments online by Pre-Authorized Payment, purchase dog tags and burn permits online or contact staff via email or phone 519-846-9691 to limit visits to the Municipal Office.
Appointments are still encouraged for services such as marriage licences, cemetery and building permits. Please call 519-846-9691 to book an appointment.
Committee of the Whole and Council meetings will continue to take place virtually. All meetings will be streamed live online, recorded, and archived for viewing at www.centrewellington.ca.
The Municipal office will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but will close daily from 12:30-1:30 p.m. for lunch.
