FERGUS – The NDP has selected Diane Ballantyne as their candidate for the 2022 provincial election in Wellington-Halton Hills.
Ballantyne has been a Wellington County councillor since 2018.
The nomination was made official during a meeting on Thursday evening.
In a press release, Ballantyne said “I am excited about this new opportunity to serve the people of Wellington—Halton Hills, and fight to make sure families here have a chance to build their best lives in our community.”
“This pandemic has been a challenge for many – workplaces have closed, children have been forced to learn from home, and the cost of living is rising fast. Families in our riding deserve better and need a government that has the courage and willingness to make investments that focus on everyday people, like fixing long-term care, making housing more affordable and funding schools so that every child has the chance to thrive.” Ballantyne said.
Ontario is scheduled to hold its 2022 election on June 2nd.
