A Shoppers Drug Mart in Fergus has been named as the second busiest pharmacy across the region in regards to COVID-19 vaccinations.
In a report that will be presented to the Wellington -Dufferin-Guelph Public Health board of directors tomorrow, the health unit discloses the top vaccinators across a wide variety of sectors.
The Fergus store on Tower Street South administered 5,925 shots, making it the second busiest pharmacy in the area, in regards to COVID-19 vaccinations, only behind a Zehrs in Guelph.
The report also discusses vaccination rates at doctor’s offices, among midwives, business partner clinics, and even veterinarians.
It states that WDG Public Health needed to think creatively to engage all the skilled vaccinators within the region and because of this they were able to deploy vaccination teams rapidly and reach individuals who were isolated or faced barriers to being vaccinated.
