Motorcycle enthusiasts from Centre Wellington and right across Southern Ontario are in, or heading to, Port Dover today for Friday The 13th celebrations.
With the increase in motorcycle traffic and traffic in general due to warmer weather, Wellington County OPP are reminding motorists to be safe when hitting the road.
Wellington County OPP Constable Jacob Unger says with the sun shining and warm temperatures, many drivers tend to pick up their speed.
Unger says speeding is the number one reason for collisions in the summer months.
Unger says police want people to take it easy on the gas and eyes open for other cars, motorcycles and children on bikes.
Police are expecting large crowds in Port Dover today as this is the first Friday The 13th since COVID restrictions have been lifted.
