The Upper Grand District School Board wants to find out more about it’s community.
This September, the board will conduct a student census covering students in all grades.
The Ministry of Eduication is requiring the censures to help identity barriers for racialized and marginalized students.
The data will be collected through an online survey, and is voluntary. Parents and Legal guardians of students can opt out of the survey anytime up to September 12th
The survey will collect a wide variety of information, including:
- First language(s)
- Indigenous status
- Ethnic or cultural origins
- Race
- Religion and/ or spiritual affiliation
- Gender identity
- Sexual orientation
- Disability(ies)
- Canadian citizenship
- Socio-economic status
