The Wellington County Health Care Alliance says the emergency department closures which have accelerated across the province are now coming to our area.
The emergency department at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest will be closed this coming Saturday and Sunday from 5 PM to 7 AM.
It will remain open during daytime hours.
In a release, the Alliance says the closure is a direct result of a gap in nursing coverage. It also adds a current COVID 19 outbreak at the hospital is adding to the stress.
“The closure is a measure that we regret having to take,” states Angela Stanley, LMH President and CEO. “Our staff have been going above and beyond for greater than two years and we can not ask them to do more.”
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will get you to the nearest Emergency Department for care.
