Centre Wellington Mayor Kelly Linton is reflecting on his time in office as he gets ready to pass the torch following the upcoming municipal election.
Linton announced in April he would not be seeking re-election.
He says he approached his role as mayor in a conservative manner by realizing you can’t come into the role and make immediate changes.
Looking back, he says he is proud of is several accomplishments including ramping up citizen engagement and bringing jobs to the area.
Linton says he is also proud of this council’s ability to rebuild roads and bridges and as a result, 21 bridges will be built over eight years compared to five of the structures in the last eight years.
As for what is next, Linton says he will take a few months off from all community and political involvement and return to his consulting business.
The municipal election is October 24.
