FERGUS – A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Centre Wellington Business Park was held Thursday morning off Dickson Drive in Fergus by staff, council, and the economic development task force.
The park will be located in northeast Fergus with easy access to Highway 6 and will feature 60 acres of land for more than 23 new businesses.
Mayor Kelly Linton says today’s groundbreaking is a milestone for the community, he says every step has been a bit of a struggle, with the township starting the strategic planning back in 2018.
Linton says the next step of the project is to go to tender to accompany servicing and roads and then market and sell to businesses.
The park will also feature an entrance, walking & bike trails connected to the Elora Cataract Trail, and preservation of the on-site heritage stone house.
Anyone interested in purchasing a plot of land in the business park can contact George Borovilos Manager of Economic Development at 519-846-9691 ext. 904 or gborovilos@centrewellington.ca.
