Shawn Watters Both “Excited and Honoured” to be Elected Mayor of Centre Wellington

PRESS RELEASE MAYOR ELECT SHAWN WATTERS

I am both excited and honoured to be elected Mayor of Centre Wellington Township.  When I put my name forward I did so with the intent of building consensus within council and to get it working together as a supportive team for the common good of the citizens. I am committed to this and will continue to engage with the greater community while building robust bridges with all other levels of government. I want to be an accessible and caring mayor and one that leads this wonderful township through some challenging times ahead.   Attainable housing, preserving agricultural lands and way of life, protecting our precious water,   infrastructure upgrades and managed-creative growth are priorities that I will work hard for along with many more.  I am thrilled that we have a totally fresh council which gives us the opportunity to work together only with the best interests of all people who live in this wonderful township in mind.

I want to thank Neil Dunsmore and Bob Foster for running excellent campaigns and I look forward to speaking with them about the ideas they had also put forth.  Thank you to all the municipal and county candidates who honoured us and democracy by running in this important election.  I of course could not have done this without the love and support of my wife Deb and my two sons Haydn and Emmett.
