Students from Elora Public School are looking forward to being involved with this year’ s Empowerment Day.
Around 5,000 students ranging from grades 5-8 in the Upper Grand District School Board will gather at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, on May 4th, to hear motivational speakers on how to make a positive difference in their communities.
40 students from Elora Public School will be running Empowerment day this year including Parth, Lilly and Mya, who say their teacher Andy Speers, has inspired them to be a part of this event.
The students say they will be emceeing the event and are looking forward to the experience.
The motto for this year’s Empowerment Day is “Why Not Now.”
This will be the first in-person event since 2019.
Speakers include Canadian Olympian, Clara Hughes, as well as a performance from Choir! Choir! Choir!
