ELORA – A new Pavilion at the Elora Centre for the Arts is scheduled to be ready for use this summer.
The MacDonald Pavilion located at the north end of the Centre for the Arts property began construction in the Fall of 2022 and continued throughout the winter.
Lianne Carter, Executive Director at the Centre, says the idea of the pavilion is to provide the community with a multi-use programming space that will accommodate a wide variety of artistic presentations.
The pavilion is fully accessible, with ramp and railings, and has many features including removeable side walls, storage closet for event use and more.
Carter says they were able to receive funding from the townships MacDonald Trust Legacy Fund and a federal government grant for safe outdoor spaces for communities.
The project is part of a greenspace activation plan at the Centre, that includes an outdoor accessible pathway project with art installations, bike parking and maps, benches and picnic tables
The Pavilion is scheduled to be ready for use in June 2023.
