WELLINGTON NORTH – An Arthur distillery received a second straight honour today, winning US Open Spirits Distillery of the Year.
The award was presented to Silver Fox Distillery last year as well when they became the first Canadian distillery to receive the distinguished honour.
The distillery has only been open for three years and entered award eligibility this year with all new products.
Mark Townsend, who runs the distillery with wife and co-owner Lisa Townsend, says the distillery’s success is a byproduct of an amazing community effort.
Townsend explained that all grains for the distillery are from within 40 kilometres, and that Silver Fox tries to always be developing new products with one mantra- flavour.
He says the distillery’s success is a byproduct of an amazing community effort.
The Townsends are speechless as they continue to pace the standards of distilleries across North America.
