The Township of Centre Wellington will finalize a lease agreement on Monday for the farmhouse on Gartshore Street in Fergus housing health care professionals.
In February, a healthcare recruitment committee was formed for Groves Memorial Hospital and developed an overall approach to health care professional recruitment. The first part of the township’s strategy was to provide accessible living spaces for newly recruited healthcare professionals.
Up to four locums or other healthcare professionals can stay in the farmhouse at a time.
The farmhouse was furnished via contributions from community stakeholders after being approved for use by council in late April.
The rent-free property will be leased at no fee to Groves Memorial Hospital until May 31st, 2024.
