Following the retirement of longtime fire chief Rick Richardson, Mapleton is set to appoint someone to take over duties in an interim role.
Brad Bigrigg will fulfill the position following the passing of a bylaw at council Monday.
Richardon was named chief in the 80’s and received a warm send-off from Mayor Gregg Davidson and township staff.

Per a report, the appointment came into effect on August 1st. The report states Bigrigg will be the interim chief until the appointment is rescinded, or a successor is named.
