GUELPH – The wife of an OPP officer who is facing sexual assault charges has had her charge stayed.
Brenda Dolderman of Elora was charged with disclosing private communications on March 8.
Police said a document was emailed to three senior members of the OPP on March 2 after an audio recording of confidential conversations was illegally obtained in 2020, and a transcribed version was made.
She pleaded guilty to obstructing justice in relation to sexual assault allegations against her husband and was sentenced to 3 months of house arrest and 12 months of probation.
The new charge was filed a week after that sentencing was handed down.
A staying of a charge means proceeding have been put on hold.
In April of 2020, 21 year member of the Wellington County OPP, Sergeant Mike Dolderman, was charged with five counts of sexual assault and five counts of breach of trust.
He is due back in court next Tuesday.
None of those charges have been proven in court.
