MOUNT FOREST – Aquatics Committee members are confident in their proposed fundraising strategy for the new Mount Forest Pool ahead of a September council meeting.
The committee believes a good plan is in place for what chair Sherry Burke says will be an “uphill climb.”
Burke told The Grand at 101 after a Tuesday committee meeting the fundraising plan would be multi-faceted.
Burke also stated the chosen method of an internal fundraising strategy just makes sense.
Burke added a fundraising coordinator was discussed at the meeting, and while several front-runners emerged, it’s too early to divulge any information.
She says while large-scale fundraising is planned with sponsors, smaller events like a Christmas house tour in November and swag items are in the works.
The fundraising strategy as well as final design and pricing will be in front of council in September.
