WELLINGTON COUNTY – Warden of Wellington County Andy Lennox was present at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference this week from August 20th to 23rd.
Three key priority areas were identified including housing, economic growth and mental health, addictions and homelessness.
In preparation for the meeting, a news release from the Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus states its members, including Lennox, worked collaboratively with MPP’s and senior provincial staff to provide briefings, research and recommendations regarding these three priority issues.
Chair of the caucus, Glen McNeil, stated delegations from wardens with provincial representatives were well received, and that the wardens expressed the unique needs of rural communities across Western Ontario.
Vice Chair Wade Mills said per the release, the organization remains steadfast in its approach, and is confident its research and recommendations can serve as a model for the entirety of the province.
