The trial of a man accused of killing a 74-year-old man in Belwood three years ago will begin next month.
In 2020 Kyle Gemin was charged with second-degree murder in the death of George Gemin.
Wellington County OPP say on July 1, 2020, at around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to an address on Poplar Place in Centre Wellington Township to check on the well-being of the occupant.
Police say when they gained entry into the home they located a deceased male and ruled the death a homicide.
The next day, Kyle Gemin was named the suspect and arrested.
Initially, Gemin was charged with first-degree murder, but the charge was later reduced to second-degree murder.
It is expected the trial will begin on Monday, September 11, and last five to six weeks.
