WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County saw an uptick in visitors for several summer events including their concert series this summer.
According to a report going before the county’s Information, Heritage and Seniors’ Committee Wednesday, “while in the past all concert advertisements were pooled together in website updates, posters, newspaper ads and social media, this year staff focused heavily on individual social media advertisements.”
“This was in addition to the regular forms of advertising, including highlights on the radio series SwapTalk with McKim. The result was success, with almost 500 attendees, compared to the previous year’s 120.”
Outside of concerts, The 47th annual Car Show took place August 27th.
370 vehicles, including 94 new participants were present for the event. There were approximately 1,500 visitors and participants throughout the day, according to the report.
All in all, 2,629 participants engaged in local events this summer.
