MAPLETON – A long process that began in December wrapped up this week when the Fire Master Plan was presented to Mapleton council for endorsement.
60 recommendations were featured in over a dozen categories throughout the plan.
One of the key recommendations involved new training focusing on the senior officer positions of Deputy Fire Chief and Fire Chief.
Richard Boyes, president of consultant Emergency Services Strategy and Solutions says this roadmap won’t be a stagnant one.
Boyes added opinions were gathered from the department before the construction of the plan.
The community risks were assessed as a part of the plan coming together as well.
The endorsement doesn’t confirm any immediate action to be taken on the recommendations in the document, but council’s green light will allow it to be a roadmap for the coming years.
