CENTRE WELLINGTON – A report that will be in front of Centre Wellington council Monday will recommend council’s approval of a termite management plan.
A recommendation suggests an agreement with Termite Research Services beginning at the completion of a successful negotiation process and up to the end of 2028.
The termite issue has been long discussed in Centre Wellington, dating back to 2016 when township council directed staff to review its approach and make recommendations regarding termites.
Early 2020 saw council request a staff report and undertake a survey aimed at gauging target areas.
Following one unsuccessful request for proposal, a July proposal included nine categories and got two responses, one of which was Termite Research Services.
The management plan could cost council as much as nearly $1.4 million over the five-year span.
