PUSLINCH – A successful musical artist and animal welfare activist has sponsored Duke, a creature living at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada in Puslinch.
Belinda Carlisle, singer of rock band the Go-Go’s and successful solo artist, now supports the donkey who is blind in one eye.
Dale Gellatly, Donkey Sanctuary fund development and communications lead, says Carlisle’s connection with the Puslinch-based donkey was a unique tale within itself.
While every sponsor is special, the span of Carlisle’s support, Gellatly says, is broad.
Duke shares a paddock with a fully blind donkey named Oliver.
Gellatly added Carlisle’s commitment to animal welfare is really special, and she greatly appreciates her willingness to get the word out about the sanctuary.
