CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township of Centre Wellington reminds residents of a yearly watermain flushing beginning this evening. From October 2nd to October 13th, watermain flushing will take place to cleanse water of naturally occurring minerals that build up over time.
This is accomplished by flushing high velocity water through fire hydrants.
The township urges the community to fully open up their cold-water faucets to flush out water that may be discoloured following the flushing. Typically, the notice states, water will run clear again in just a few minutes.
To reduce customer inconvenience, watermain flushing operations are conducted overnight, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
If any issues persist, staff recommend calling 519-846-9691, extension 905.
