CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington was one of 29 communities that hosts gaming facilities to receive a second quarter payment from The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG)
The township’s payment for hosting Elements Casino Grand River, was just over $805,000, a news release states.
Centre Wellington has received over $1.5 million since the beginning of the fiscal year for OLG April 1st, and over $40 million since the site opened in 2003.
the release states “these payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.”
Host communities have received more than $2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue since 1994.
