PALMERSTON – A new mixed use development is coming soon next to the King Hotel in Palmerston.
Located on the outskirts of town, the property will be welcoming a commercial and residential use development. A report states the property’s owner is currently in the pre-consultation phase of the site plan control.
The move comes on the heels of Minto council approving a minor variance to help maintain existing loading space and reducing ground floor commercial use.
The existing loading spaces on the retained lands are nine metres, or almost 26 feet long and 3.5 metres wide and have been used efficiently over the course of the hotel’s operation for laundry and delivery services. This relief will legalize the existing space dimensions.
The King Hotel has been operating in Palmerston since 1980 and currently has 39 guest rooms, as well as two accessory dwelling units.
An updated report will be back in front of council at a later meeting.
