WELLINGTON COUNTY – Remembrance Day will be marked throughout Centre Wellington and across the county this weekend.
A candle-lighting will take place this evening at the Wellington County Museum and Archives and the markers will stand until November 13th.
Over 500 memorial markers grace the front lawn to commemorate the contributions of the fallen from Wellington County. Please join us and place a candle on each marker as a tribute to the fallen. A parade to the cenotaph will begin at the Fergus legion at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 11th.
Tower Street South will be closed to Bridge Street during the event.
Elora’s legion will hold a ceremony at 1 MacDonald Square at 10:50 a.m.
At the same time in Puslinch the Puslinch Community Centre will hold their ceremony.
Multiple local hockey teams including the Fergus Whalers and Elora Rocks will host their Remembrance Day ceremonies at home games over the weekend.

All Wellington County library branches will be closed on Monday in lieu of Remembrance Day.
