FERGUS – The Fergus Grand Theatre stage will welcome award-winning country artist and comedian Rory Gardiner for a performance Friday night.
Gardiner’s comedy/music fusion will roll into the theatre for a performance of Tornado Troubles.
His journey, he says, stems all the way from a natural disaster in his hometown, to a viral video that helped him turn things around.
In a media release from the Township of Centre Wellington, Theatre Coordinator Eric Goudie said “I first saw Rory when he faced a really tough crowd.”
“Not only did he break through to them, he did it as soon as he walked on stage, and he kept everyone in stitches until he took his bow at the end. He is an incredible performer,” Goudie went on to say.
The performance entails stories from the storm and tales of raising children in today’s day and age.
Gardiner, based in Ottawa, says he’s unfamiliar with Fergus but is aware residents know of his work.
He added after a tornado tore apart his neighbourhood, humour was a method he used to get through it.
The show will begin at 8 p.m. this evening.
