WELLINGTON NORTH – Wellington North residents could be looking at a 5.87 per cent tax increase in 2024.
A report to go before council on Monday proposes a 5.87 per cent increase in the tax levy, resulting in a total levy requirement of over $9 million, an increase of 7.97 per cent.
For a typical residential, single-family dwelling, the township portion of the property tax is estimated to increase by over $78.
A township report says the total capital program for 2024 amounts to $23 million-plus, with $13.5 million allocated to a wastewater upgrade in Arthur.
The document notes excluding this upgrade, the capital program for 2024 stands at $9,669,885, consistent with previous years.
44 per cent of budget dollars are recommended to go towards roads.
