WELLINGTON COUNTY – Being honoured in the fifth year of the award, former Puslinch and Wellington County councillor Barb McKay has won the 2023 Luella Logan Award for Outstanding Service by a Woman in Politics.
McKay attributed her success among other things to staff and the community.
She went on to recognize her husband for everything throughout the years.
The winner of the award is given the opportunity to donate $1,500 to a charity of their choice.
McKay selected Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis to receive the funds.
She added she believes three qualities equip one to be successful in the field.
McKay, now retired, served on several committees including the Puslinch Planning Advisory Committee, the Wellington Community Futures, the Wellington Farm Safety and Friends of Mill Creek.
