WELLINGTON COUNTY – Charges against an OPP officer who recently passed away have been dropped.
In April 2020, Mike Dolderman a 21-year member of the Wellington County detachment was arrested and charged with five counts of sexual assault and five counts of breach of trust.
Dolderman died on November 17th following a battle with an aggressive cancer, according to his obituary.
The allegations had not been proven in court and a trial was scheduled for next year.
On Tuesday, in a Guelph courtroom the Crown asked that all charges against Dolderman be withdrawn.
The Crown can ask to withdraw charges when there is no reasonable prospect of conviction or it is not in the public interest to pursue conviction.
