NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) – In September 2023, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) began an investigation into reported sexual assaults that occurred between 1961 and 1984 at a residence in the County of Wellington. As a result, two individuals have been charged.
Murray F. RICHARDS, 89 years old of Centre Wellington, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· Gross Indecency (nine counts)
· Gross Indecency (three counts)
· Indecent Assault on a Female (eight counts)
· Sexual Assault
· Assault
· Forcible Confinement
Ruth E. RICHARDS, 85 years old of Centre Wellington, has been charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:
· Assault
· Forcible Confinement
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on March 8, 2024.
