WELLINGTON COUNTY – After three years of planning and construction, it’s finally time for CMHA Waterloo-Wellington to move into their brand-new building.
CEO of the organization Helen Fishburn says they are “extremely excited” to start working in the fresh Children’s and Youth Services Building in Guelph.
She also stated there will be a wide variety of services offered to those who come into the building at 737 Woolwich Street.
Fully funded, with no costs to families, Fishburn says the ultimate goal is to change the path of youth so they can embrace their mental health.
She says how crucial this building is for the community cannot be overstated.
This speaks so well to what Guelph and Wellington is standing for, says Fishburn. She explained they hope to complete the transition within the month, and added in her mind there’s a clear message to locals with this building.
Fishburn went on to say the fundraising to the tune of 10 million dollars that went on to make the new building happen was incredible to see.
The building is expected to care for about 9,000 children and youth each year following a ribbon cutting in the coming months.
