ERIN – A special meeting of council tomorrow in Erin will give the Outlaws Hockey Club a chance to prove their significance to the community.
The Ontario Elite Hockey League squad requires a municipal signifcance designation from the town in order to acquire a special occasion permit. This process is required for the new team, established in August, to sell alcohol at their playoff games.
Attached in their note to staff at the Town of Erin is a section about community involvement, and the team’s partnership with the Erin Fall Fair.
According to a report, the areas for alcohol sales and consumption would be inside the arena, with the bar at the west end. That bar will stop serving in the third period.
You can read the full report here.
The decision will come tomorrow at 4 p.m. during the council session in Erin.
