WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County OPP reports there were 18 fatal collisions in 2023, up from 11 in 2022. That’s a 64 per cent jump.
The report notes the disobeying of a traffic control had the highest increase in cause, with 152 instances, up three per cent from 2022.
Also noted was a jump in impaired operation – alcohol charges laid, up six per cent. Impaired operation – drugs was down two per cent. There were 57 alcohol-induced impaired operation charges, and 55 drug impaired operation charges.
