WELLINGTON NORTH – A major project in Arthur is continuing to make progress.
Wellington County staff are set to provide its third report on the Arthur garage project to the county’s roads committee Tuesday morning.
The new garage is being built on Wellington Road 12 near Arthur and will serve as a new public works building on nine acres of land for the County.
According to the report, work completed so far includes:
- Installation of the underground services (sanitary & storm sewers) have continued as weather permits
- Foundation forms have been stripped, & have insulation & weeping tile installed
- Foundations have been backfilled
- Equipment shed footing & foundations have been excavated, formed, poured, stripped & backfilled
Staff say work to be completed in the next month includes:
- Framing of equipment shed will get started
- Pre-cast concrete slabs will be installed
- Mass Timber structure is scheduled for delivery / installation early March
- Installation of the underground services (sanitary & storm sewers) will continue as weather permits
Completion of the $16.8 million project is scheduled for the fall of 2024.
