GUELPH – Several local programs will benefit from a newly-rolled out sum of federal funding.
Thursday afternoon, Lloyd Longfield, member of parliament for Guelph, on behalf of the minister of mental health and addictions, announced over $320,000, in funding, including more than $245,000 to modernize CMHA Waterloo Wellington’s Here 24/7 crisis response and referral system.
A news release went on to say Compass Community Services is also getting an additional $78,230 to help them serve their diverse population base, including 2SLGTBQIA+, racialized and Indigenous persons and older adults.
The funding is part of a commitment of $8 million in Canada through the Distress Line Equity Fund.
