WELLINGTON NORTH – A major project in Arthur is continuing to make progress.
Wellington County staff are set to provide its fourth report on the Arthur garage project to the county’s roads committee Tuesday morning.
The new garage is being built on Wellington Road 12 near Arthur and will serve as a new public works building on nine acres of land for the County.
According to the report, work completed so far includes:
- Installation of the underground services (sanitary & storm sewers) has continued as weather permits
- Pre-cast concrete slabs have been installed in the office area
- Framing of equipment shed has begun
- Installation of mass timber structure has begun
Staff say work to be completed in the next month includes:
- Framing of equipment shed will continue as weather permits
- Installation of Mass Timber structure will continue
- Installation of the underground services (sanitary & storm sewers) will continue as weather permits
- Installation of concrete block may begin depending on weather
Completion of the $16.8 million project is scheduled for the fall of 2024.
