ABOYNE – An information night on Monday, March 25th will offer area residents an in-depth look at Tri-County Green Development standards.
Wellington County, as well as the counties of Grey and Dufferin, are working in tandem on the initiative.
Wellington County’s Climate Change and Sustainability Manager, Karen Chisholme says the partnership stems from a recognition that the development community spans beyond local borders.
She explains green development standards could include more than just practices related to building.
Chisholme went on to say other examples could include trees, open space and active transportation routes.
She added the session will offer the county the chance to get a preliminary looks at the wants and needs of the community.
Chisholme says she’s looking forward to speaking with the community about this topic for the first time at the event, kicking off at the Aboyne Hall at the Wellington County Museum and Archives at 5:30 p.m.
She also stated residents will provide a key role in the early stages of mapping out this project.
The event will get going with a presentation and offer Q&A as well. It will run 5:30-7:30 p.m.
