WELLINGTON COUNTY – Vaccine wastage for 2023 will be reported by Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health at a public health meeting taking place on Wednesday.
From January to December 2023, WDG Public Health distributed $8,532,550.55 in vaccine, excluding COVID vaccines, to community partners in the region.
WDGPH had a combined internal/external wastage rate of 3.1% of vaccine, also excluding COVID vaccinations.
Public Health is mandated to report any publicly funded vaccine deemed as wastage to the Ministry.
Overall, wastage was down from 2022 by 5.3 per cent in 2023 from 2022.
The topic will be discussed at the public health meeting Wednesday afternoon.
