MOUNT FOREST – A road in Mount Forest will be closed for the next three months for construction.
In a post to social media, the Township of Wellington North says Fergus Street North will undergo significant reconstruction between Wellington Street East and Birmingham Street East.
“This project will include the full replacement of watermain, various services, roadway, sidewalk, accessible ramps, grass boulevard, driveway entrances, road asphalt, and pavement markings.”
During this time, the township says Fergus Street North will be fully closed to through traffic, with local access only permitted until the end of July 2024. A complete traffic detour will be in effect to ensure smooth flow and safety.
If you need to reach the temporary St. Mary’s School at the First Baptist Church, the township advises residents to use Wellington Street via Egremont Street.
