FERGUS – The Fergus Lions Club started off their 45th Annual Home and Leisure Show Tuesday night by making donations to two groups.
The Fergus Lions donated $40,000 to Groves Memorial Hospital, funding the purchase of new paediatric colonoscopes to enhance pediatric care.
Lori Arsenault, Executive Director of Groves Hospital Foundation, expressed her gratitude to the Lions.
The donation from the Lions will allow for enhanced endoscopic services for young patients at Groves.
Arsenault, Executive Director of Groves Hospital Foundation says many people may not know, none of the equipment in any hospital across Ontario is funded by the government.
This $40,000 will mark the Fergus Lions’ 21st year of giving to Groves and 47th as a Club.
The Fergus Lions also presented a $2,000 cheque to Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue.

Deputy Fire Chief Jason Benn says the donation from the Lions will be put to lifesaving use.
The Fergus Lions Home and Leisure Show goes again tonight and tomorrow between 5:30pm and 9:30pm at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
