FERGUS – The Township of Centre Wellington is out with a notice to Fergus residents.
In a post to social media Monday, the township is asking drivers to avoid the intersection of St. David St. and Garafraxa St where crews are working to repair a broken valve located on Garafraxa St. just east of St. David St. to allow for watermain isolation south of the intersection.
“This is an emergency repair, and crews are working to restore the intersection by the end of the day today,” the township said in the post.
The township says residents located on Garafraxa St. in the section between St David St and James St will experience a water shutdown due to the emergency repair.
The water is expected to be restored this afternoon.
