FERGUS – A local teen’s legacy continues to live on as the 3rd Annual Team Addy Family Fun Day is set to be held this weekend.
Addison Hill, known as Addy, was a 14-year-old from Elora who died in 2022 after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called angiosarcoma in 2021.
During that time, Addy became a SickKids ambassador and rallied the community to raise funds for sarcoma research at SickKids Hospital through the first Family Fun Day fundraiser.
Jessica Hill, Addy’s mother says she wants to continue the fight in memory of her daughter by raising awareness and changing the lives of children with sarcoma cancer.
Hill says they have a fun-packed day in-store for the community.
The free charity event will also include a basketball tournament.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm at Centre Wellington District High School.
