ELORA – Residents of Centre Wellington are advised that access to the Elora Transfer Station will be impacted due to the resumption of construction on Gerrie Road.
The Township of Centre Wellington has announced that the south entrance to the transfer station, located on Colbourne Street, will be closed.
To access the dump, users will need to use the north entrance, located on Sideroad 15.
According to the ConnectCW website, the township will be commencing with the reconstruction of Gerrie Road from Colborne Street to approximately 860 meters North.
“The project consists of converting the current “rural” cross-section to an “urban” cross-section complete with curb and gutter (west side only) and with the extension of storm sewer and watermain.”
Also included in the project will be a multi-use path, street trees, and streetlights (west side only) extending from Colborne Street to 860 meters Noth. The east side will remain a rural standard.
Construction will begin this month (August) and is anticipated to be completed in December 2024.
