ELORA – The body of an individual was discovered following a truck fire this morning in Elora.
Wellington County OPP along with Centre Wellington Fire Rescue and Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services responded to a vehicle fire on Wilson Street around 9:30 Thursday morning.
The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived and neighbouring homes had to be evacuated.
After fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze, police located a body in the vehicle.
The fire marshal and coroner have been contacted.
Police say they are in the early stages of the investigation and expect to be on scene until the evening.
“There is no threat to public safety,” police said in a news release.
