GUELPH – The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) wants to remind families of some important deadlines that are approaching.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year runs from January 7 to January 31, 2025.
We encourage families to register their child for Kindergarten within this window, as this supports our schools and board in staffing classrooms for next year.
JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN FRENCH IMMERSION
Admission to French Immersion is subject to available space. The deadline to apply within the “on-time application window” for Junior Kindergarten French Immersion is January 31, 2025, at 4pm. Applications received after this deadline will be considered “late.”

OUT OF AREA/OUT OF DISTRICT ATTENDANCE
The UGDSB recently adopted a new policy on Admissions and Registration. One of the things that this policy lays out is the new process for Out of Area (OOA) and Out of District (OOD) attendance.
- Important changes to the process for OOA/OOD attendance:
- Moving forward, the board will maintain a list of schools that are either ‘open’ or ‘closed’ to new OOA/OOD registrations.
- Schools are reviewed each year and the list is updated and posted prior to the December break.
- Only schools designated as ‘open’ for the coming school year can accept new OOA/OOD registrations.
- New OOA/OOD registrations can only be submitted during a limited period of time during the month of January.
New OOA/OOD registrations must be completed by the last Friday in January (January 31, 2025). All schools are closed to OOA/OOD after this date and the next opportunity to register at a school as OOA/OOD is January 2026.
