ERIN – The Town of Erin is making the building and planning process easier by adopting innovative technology to streamline applications.
Cloudpermit is a web-based platform that allows residents to file applications for building and planning permits, book building inspections, and receive updates on the status of their application.
The Town of Erin began using the program in 2022 for building permits and is now also accepting planning applications through the site too.
“The Town of Erin adopted Cloudpermit to streamline the permit process,” said Joe Forte, Erin’s Chief Building Official. “It automates the process of applying, reviewing, issuing permits and approving the planning processes.”
This service helps ensure applicants file all the data Erin’s planners and building inspectors require, while creating a reliable database of applications, files and inspections— all with integrated GIS mapping.
“It makes it easier for our department and other agencies to handle applications,” said Forte.
This system also increases the Town’s sustainability efforts, eliminating the need for paper documents.
