NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Dundalk resident with two criminal, and two provincial charges stemming from a traffic stop.
On February 19, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Unit were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative when they detected a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, and initiated a traffic stop ON-89 Highway within Wellington North Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old of Dundalk is charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Possess more than one licence
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 7, 2025.
