NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(MAPLETON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a two motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 17, just outside of Alma, Mapleton Township.
On February 27, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., The Wellington County OPP, alongside local emergency services responded to the collision, involving one driver being ejected. Both drivers were reported to have sustained serious injuries and were both transported to a trauma centre.
The investigation is ongoing, with the West Region Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TCI) is assisting.
Initial road closures involved Wellington Road 17, between Wellington Road 8 and Third Line West, but have all since been reopened.
