MAPLETON – One individual has died as a result of the multi-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 12, Mapleton Township.
On March 6, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 12 between Wellington Road 45 and Wellington Road 86.
As a result of the collision, a 34-year-old from Mapleton Township was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The identity of the deceased individual will not be released out of respect for the family’s privacy.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team and the West Region OPP Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) Team and Reconstruction are assisting Wellington OPP with the investigation.
While on scene, it was discovered that there were three separate collisions on the same roadway, totaling eight motor vehicles involved.
As a result of the collision and poor weather conditions, Wellington Road 12 has been closed from Wellington Road 86 to Wellington Road 8.Unknown timeline of when the roads will be reopened at this time.

As a result of the collision and poor weather conditions, Wellington Road 12 will be closed from Wellington Road 86 to Wellington Road 8.
